DVD's are just part of the growth in technological development and advancement. It was inevitable really, with the rate of innovation. The transition from VHS to DVD is just part of the evolving of technology. It caters to newer technologies like the Wide Screen television. While VHS is still around, DVD has surpassed and taken over
VHS in relationship to Multimedia and also within relation to the home entertainment sector.
